JRCALC 2024 January Updates (Part 2 Of 3)

By making sure you are aware of the new updates enables you to deliver up to date clinical practice and stay within your scope of practice.
The changes in the JRCALC 2024 January update are:
✅Benzylpenicillin doses amended to take into water displacement.
✅Indication update to GTN medication in the management of Heart Failure – GTN should be considered in acute heart failure with ischaemia or uncontrolled hypertension.
✅Hypothermia added as contraindications to Amiodarone – Do not administer in patients with core temperature of less than 30oc.
✅Hypothermia added as contraindications to Adrenaline 1:10000 – Do not administer in patients with core temperature of less than 30oc.
✅Change in the wording of TXA administration route – IM, IV or IO can be the first line of administration of TXA.
✅Change in joules level of BLS/ALS for age birth to one month old.
